Bio-remodelling treatment is a first-of-its-kind hyaluronic acid based injectable that hydrates, plumps, and tightens the skin. While anti-wrinkle injections target dynamic lines, and dermal fillers focus on volume and contouring, bio-remodelling treatment creates a new category of anti-ageing injectable that restores moisture and firmness to the skin.

With this innovative product, one can treat the face and beyond, and achieve beautiful results with fewer injections and sessions. Bio-remodelling treatment can be used alone or in combination with many other rejuvenating procedures available at Northside Dermatology.

What Is Bio-Remodelling Treatment?

Bio-remodelling treatment contains the highly moisturising ingredient (hyaluronic acid) found in many popular dermal fillers. A version of this substance occurs naturally in the human body, where it acts as a cushion and a lubricant.

This ingredient is found in many skincare products because it is hydrophilic, meaning it attracts and retains water. In fact, it can hold up to 1,000 times its own weight in water. This makes it a powerful hydrator and a useful ingredient for restoring support and volume to the skin.

The Bio-Remodeller contains a very pure form of hyaluronic acid in one of the highest concentrations available. It delivers the ingredient into multiple layers of the skin for a level of efficacy that cannot be achieved with topical products.

How Is Bio-Remodeller Different From Dermal Fillers?

Although they share an active ingredient, bio-remodelling treatment and dermal fillers are not the same.

Fillers have a thicker, gel-like consistency that is designed to prop up the skin. When a filler is injected, it says where it is placed, providing volume, shape, and lift to the area. Most fillers last six to 18 months before they dissolve and retreatment is required.

Bio-remodeller’s primary purpose is not filling. It is intended to hydrate and tighten the skin, as well as boost collagen and elastin production. The bio-remodeller has a softer, more fluid texture that spreads easily through the different skin layers. The recommended treatment protocol is two treatments four weeks apart, followed by maintenance every six months.

How Does Bio-Remodeller Work?

Unlike wrinkle-reducing injections and dermal filler treatments, the bio-remodeller stimulates collagen and elastin production, attracting water into the deeper layers of the skin. It delivers the active ingredient throughout the different layers of the skin (epidermis, dermis, and subcutaneous fat), oozing like honey to exert its effect at every level.

The bio-remodeller is a stabilised product. This means that its effect on dermal cells lasts longer than that of a non-stabilised gel. Due to its high purity and the absence of additives, the bio-remodeller is also known for its safety profile and lack of side effects.

What Areas Can Be Treated With Bio-Remodeller?

The Bio-remodeller is typically used for facial rejuvenation, but it can also be administered into the neck, décolleté, and hands. Other areas may be treatable, depending on your needs. Please discuss your goals with your cosmetic dermatologist or cosmetic nurse during your consultation. They will determine whether the bio-remodelling treatment is suitable for your needs and recommend an alternative treatment if appropriate.

What Is the “Bioremodelling” Effect?

Bio-remodelling treatment helps your skin rejuvenate from within. Its bioremodelling effects include:

  • Stimulating keratinocytes, fibroblasts, adipocytes, and osteocytes for tissue regeneration
  • Increasing the number of collagen and elastin fibres in the skin
  • Preserving the integrity of adipose (fat) tissue to retain youthful fullness
  • Slowing down the process of loss in bone volume

These active restorative capabilities distinguish bio-remodeller from dermal fillers, skin boosters and topical products.

Who Is a Candidate for Bio-Remodelling Treatments?

Nearly anyone who wants to improve their skin is a candidate for bio-remodelling treatment. It is a safe treatment for all skin types and tones, as well as a beneficial option for the full spectrum of ages. The main contraindications to treatment are pregnancy, breastfeeding, and allergies to ingredients in the product.

How Does Bio-Remodelling Fit In With the Laser and Injectable Treatments ?

Bio-remodelling treatment complements any skin treatment available at Northside Dermatology. The cosmetic dermatologists who consult with us often recommend the bio-remodeller to:

  • Patients having laser treatments. The laser treats skin surface concerns (such as tone and texture), while bio-remodeller hydrates and tightens.
  • Patients starting a medical-grade skincare regimen with active ingredients who want more significant results than topicals can achieve.
  • Patients who regularly receive anti-wrinkle injections and are interested in more injectables, but are concerned about the side effects of dermal fillers.
  • Patients who use dermal fillers and want a treatment to enhance and extend the results of the fillers.

Is The Bio-Remodelling Treatment Painful?

There can be a stinging sensation during treatment, as the bio-remodeller does not contain an anaesthetic. For those who are sensitive, your clinicians can use a topical anaesthetic, local anaesthetic, or both prior to the bio-remodelling injections to aid comfort.

What Should I Expect After My Bio-Remodelling Treatment?

The bio-remodeller settles into the skin in a matter of hours. The most common side effect is localised swelling that resembles mosquito bites. This typically settles within eight hours on the face and 24 hours on the neck.  The clinicians suggest scheduling no important social engagements for two days post-treatment to account for this. They also recommend avoiding wearing makeup and engaging in strenuous physical exercise for 24 hours. You may resume light activities right away.

What Are the Potential Side Effects of Bio-Remodelling Treatments?

No serious adverse events, such as vascular occlusion or allergic reactions, have been reported. The most common side effect of bio-remodelling treatment is localised swelling that typically resolves quickly. For patients who experience post-treatment swelling, it can be expected to resolve in approximately six to eight hours for the face and 24 to 48 hours for the neck.

How Often Should I Receive Bio-Remodelling Treatments?

The initial bio-remodelling treatment is administered in two sessions spaced four weeks apart. Many patients start to see improvements within a week of their treatment, with more significant results emerging around six to eight weeks as collagen and elastin production increase.

Following the initial two treatments, bio-remodelling treatment is recommended every six months (or as advised by your provider) to sustain results.

What Complementary Treatments Pair Well With Bio-Remodelling Treatment?

Bio-remodelling treatment can be paired with most treatments, including:
