LED light therapy is a non-invasive, non-ablative skin treatment that delivers pure light in precise wavelengths to treat common skin conditions, accelerate healing and promote rejuvenation. At Northside Dermatology, we perform LED light therapy with the Healite II system from Lutronic. Healite II contains over 1800 LED lights, each of which is programmed to penetrate to the deepest layers of the skin without the risk of physical trauma or thermal damage. This versatile treatment can be used as a stand-alone therapy or as an accompaniment to many other rejuvenating procedures.

LED light therapy can benefit a wide range of skin concerns, including:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Acne
  • Pigmentation
  • Sun damage
  • Redness
  • Textural irregularities
  • Poor skin tone
  • Dull complexion

It has also been shown to accelerate skin repair and stimulate collagen production.

Following a consultation, your dermatologist will select the wavelength that is best-suited to your needs and goals. We incorporate the following wavelengths into our treatments at Northside Dermatology:

  • 590nm/830nm: These wavelengths are used for post-procedural healing after treatments such as radiofrequency, laser and chemical peels. We also use them to treat inflammation in patients with rosacea or acne who cannot take or do not wish to take oral medication.
  • 633nm: This wavelength is used for photodynamic therapy (PDT), a minimally-invasive treatment that combines a topical photosensitising agent with LED light application to treat certain types of superficial skin cancers and premalignant lesions.
  • All wavelengths can be used for general skin rejuvenation.

Patients of all ages and skin types can benefit from this safe, gentle, no-downtime treatment. Call Northside Dermatology on 03 8582 8688 to learn more about LED light therapy and Healite II.
